Here are the answers:
Plus Cover or Self Cover:
Plus cover refers to any booklet or publication with the outside cover printing on a paper stock that is different than the interior of the booklet. (i.e.: 24 Pages + Cover (4 additional pages); Stock inside: Gloss Coated 80# Text, Cover printed on Gloss Coated 100# Cover; 28 Pages - Self Cover: Gloss Coated 80# Text throughout.
Flat Size:
Flat size refers to the dimension of your projects before finishing. This does not include any project that is saddle stitched, perfect bound, coil or spiral bound - please refer to their finished size for accurate estimating (i.e.: Brochure - flat size 16" x 9, score and folded to 4" x 9")
Finished Size:
Finished size refers to the dimension of your project at its final stage. (i.e.: Brochure - flat size 16" x 9, score and folded to a finished size of 4" x 9") Saddle Stitched, Perfect Bound, Coil, Wire or Spiral Bound booklets: 24 Pages + Cover, Finished Size: 8.5" x 11"
Pre-Press:
Please specify how artwork will be submitted (software, version of software and platform (mac or pc). If submitting PDF's, please provide unflattened, high resolution PDF files with bleeds. Do not impose files for print output. New York Press & Graphics will trap and impose all projects for proper outcome.
In-House Layout Services:
If your project requires design and layout services or alterations, New York Press & Graphics has full-time, in-house graphic artists. Please let us know what type of services you might require and a customer service representative will guide you though the process and provide you with an estimate.
Proofing:
Please specify which type of final proof you would prefer.
PDF Proof: High resolution digital proof emailed to you (or uploaded to FTP) for your review (for accurate color match, please refer to High Resolution Proof.)
Low Resolution Proof: Output on a low resolution proofing substrate, this proof will show content and position only. This should not be used for color match (please refer to High Resolution Proof).
High Resolution Proof: Calibrated to our Pressroom, this proof is output on a high resolution substrate for accurate color match. These proofs must be returned to NYP&G before the scheduled press date.
Varnish:
Gloss and Satin varnish is available. Please specify if you require spot varnish (particular areas of a sheet) or flood varnish (overall coverage thoughout) on your project.
Aqueous Coating:
Gloss and Satin Aqeuous Coating is available for overall (flood) Please specify which finish you require for proper estimating. For projets printed on uncoated papers, gloss layflat can be used for anti-scuff treatment.
